Care instructions for your socks and tights
Preserving Your Luxury Pieces
Now that you own a pair of Uniq Socks, we are sure that you want to wear them as many times as possible. We source the finest materials, from our OEKO-TEX®️ Standard 100 certified cotton to our sheer designer weaves to ensure every pair feels like a premium experience. To prolong their life, please follow these essential care guidelines.
The Golden Rules of Sock Care
No matter the material, these universal rules will help preserve the shape, vibrant colors, and elasticity of your socks and tights:
- Prep: Wash before wear. Always turn your garments inside out to protect the exterior patterns and intricate knits from friction.
- Wash: Cold hand-wash or machine-wash on a gentle cycle at a low temperature. Wash with like colours using a mild detergent.
- Protect: Do not soak, bleach, rub, or wring the delicate fibers.
- Dry: Remove from the washing machine promptly. It is best to air-dry your Uniq Socks. Line dry in the shade or inside, avoiding direct sunlight. Do not tumble dry, as the intense heat may cause shrinkage and degrade the elasticity.
- Avoid: Do not dry clean.
The Uniq Pro-Tip: The use of a garment bag further reduces the likelihood of damage and loss during the wash cycle. Shop our protective garment bags here to keep your collection pristine.
Caring for Specific Materials
Sheer, Crystal & Lace Designs (Polyamide Blends)
Our creative sheer hosiery and embellished pieces require the utmost care. Treat them like fine jewellery.
- Putting Them On: Avoid contact with sharp objects. Remove rings, bracelets, and ensure your nails are smooth before gently rolling the sheer fabric up your leg.
- Washing: Hand washing in cold water with a gentle delicates detergent is strictly recommended. If you must machine wash, always place them inside a garment bag on a delicate cycle.
Organic Bamboo & OEKO-TEX®️ Certified Cotton
Our premium cotton and bamboo socks are designed for breathable, everyday luxury.
- Washing: Machine-wash on a gentle cycle with cold water and like colours.
- Care Tip: Bamboo fibers are incredibly soft. To maintain that buttery feel, avoid stretching them aggressively when wet, as natural fibers are most vulnerable when holding water.
Alpaca Wool Blends
Alpaca wool provides unparalleled warmth, but natural wool requires a gentle touch to prevent felting.
- Washing: Hand wash cold. Submerge in water with a wool-safe detergent and gently squeeze—do not rub or wring.
- Drying: Always dry your wool blends flat on a towel. Hanging them while wet will cause the heavy, water-logged wool to stretch completely out of shape.
Final Note
Always follow the instructions as per the product label/packaging.
